A CALL TO SERVICE
Born in Illinois, home to Lake County for over 25 years, called to serve as your Lake County Treasurer, it is an honor to represent the people of this extraordinary community. Married to her high school sweetheart, Paula and her husband raised their four children in Lake County. A Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years experience in the public and private sectors specializing in insurance, banking, manufacturing, financial and investment services industries. Her abundance of experience also includes individual and corporate tax, 401k, profit sharing and pension plans. After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration she began her career at Coopers and Lybrand - today known as Price Waterhouse Coopers, one of the top 4 accounting firms in the nation.
PURPOSEFUL AND PASSIONATE
Throughout her lifetime Paula maintained a healthy balance between community, career, and family. She has always been ambitious and driven to serve her community. While being a newspaper carrier at age 10, she began giving back countless hours through youth organizations. Some of her most memorable moments include March of Dimes walks. In high school, she participated in the Service over Self program volunteering over 400 hours to a local hospital. Her college education was paid for from full-time work in high school and part-time work in college. For decades, she has continued to dedicate her time through her involvement with community, non-profit or philanthropic organizations including Elawa Farm Foundation, Sango Association, Girl Scouts of the USA, the Libertyville Boys Club, Pads, the Cool Food Pantry, and many more. Active in her church, Paula utilized her times and talents as necessary while her children attended and progressed through their studies at church, including Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School coordinator, nursery care attendant and Christian Education Committee chair, to name a few.
